Mediocre N64 racer, but can be fun with a friend!
Perhaps not the best N64 racer, but despite the challenging controls, you can still have some fun with it. With a wide selection of cars to choose from and the ability to adjust your tires, gears... GT 64: Championship Edition becomes much less dull. Moreover, you can engage in a lifelike 24-lap race together with a friend!

Mediocre Racing Game
GT 64: Championship Edition is a mediocre racing game for the N64. Decent tracks, controls, and sound, but all very limited. This could have been a good realistic racer among the more 'kiddy' racers on the N64. Unfortunately, GT 64: Championship Edition doesn't fill this gap. If you're looking for a good racing simulator on the N64, then try World Driver Championship. In this game, you also race with Touring Cars. However, this game has much better graphics, more tracks, and more cars.

Doesn't excel in any way
GT 64: Championship Edition is too difficult to let your little sister play, and too limited to provide deep enjoyment for days on end.

The game offers an "okay" selection of vehicles, and allows you to fine-tune your car (for example, you can adjust the tire pressure, transmission, brakes, etc. to your liking).

However, this customization makes it too complicated to be a plug-and-play for young children.

On the other hand, the number of racetracks is limited, as well as the number of racing groups to choose from (mostly all Japanese drivers without well-known names).

For avid racing fans, this makes it a rather short experience where you've seen everything the game has to offer after just an hour or two.
