Pioneer of 3D gaming today
Super Mario 64, a lot has already been said about it here, but I'm still going to write a review.

SM64 simply became the pioneer of 3D gaming, it was the 1st Mario game in 3D. And Nintendo succeeds on all fronts: beautiful graphics that still look good. Smooth gameplay with a magical soundtrack and a whopping 15 levels and many secrets to unravel.

You could mention 2 small downsides: No multiplayer option & the camera work can be tricky at times.

But the fact that the game has been re-released first on the DS (Super Mario 64 DS) in 2005 and in 2020/21 on the Switch (Super Mario 3D All-Stars) says it all!

The console was originally bundled with this game along with Pilotwings. These were the launch titles, and Mario broke all records!

I found it quite challenging to reach the 120 stars and open the cannon outside. Don't forget, back in the 90s, you didn't have any help from the internet or the like. The level in the top right corner of the castle was designed in such a way that you could get 2 stars there, the 1st one was easy, but no one knew about that 2nd one until someone tried it very quickly and there it was! A wonderfully hidden puzzle in one of the levels where you could explore a lot.

Another big plus is that there's no time limit like in previous Mario games. Just take your time to explore everything, absolutely fantastic!!!!

The most influential and best game ever!
How many hours have I played Super Mario (N64/DS)? No idea, but definitely the most of all games! This game is so good that it deserves the title 'best game ever' from me!

For the first time, you can join the mustachioed plumber Mario on an adventure in a 3D world. This completely revolutionized the gaming world at the time. You can't imagine the amount of new gameplay elements that became possible.

First of all, I found the HUB of this game to be well-developed. From Peach's castle, you could access all the worlds. But there was also plenty to do within the castle itself. You could happily chase rabbits or play mini-games in the rec-room (DS version).

Then, of course, there are all the levels themselves. They were huge back then. A bit outdated now, but it's still fun to thoroughly explore all the levels. There's always something to do. You can also find a lot of variety. From snow-capped mountain tops to scorching deserts and from a large lava pit to lush green hills. Everything falls into place in this game.

Another fantastic game element is that you can embark on the adventure with 4 (!) different characters. These are Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, and the newcomer Wario. Each character has their own abilities. For example, Yoshi can stay in the air longer compared to Wario, who can kick and punch with brute force.

All in all, Super Mario 64 is simply a masterpiece, a work of art. It has everything: great level design, variety, huge length of the levels, and the game as a whole. It's just perfect!

The highly successful start of the 3D Mario games!
Super Mario 64 is truly a very fun game. I remember buying this game together with my N64 years ago. (I think they were bundled together). I really had a lot of fun with it. I have to say, for a 12-year-old boy, it was quite a challenging game. It might be different now ;).

This game is basically just the beginning of the 3D Mario games that we all know so well now. The gameplay is very enjoyable and sometimes even funny, and it's always nice to hear Mario's sounds while running and jumping. Sometimes even when he 'dies' "mammaaaamia\". To great irritation when you fall or get hit for the umpteenth time.

No, this game is very enjoyable. It evokes sentiment in me, which doesn't happen to me very often.

The first 3D top adventure!
Super Mario 64 is Mario's first and also Mario's best 3D adventure. Look, I know what you're saying, but Super Mario Galaxy looks better! That's true, but this game is so so so much more. -Talk to all Toads (3) in the castle.
-Catch the speedy bunny 2 times and slide into the Princess Slide within 21 sec.

I myself got stuck in the game for a very long time (a couple of years ago) because I just couldn't find the flying hat (red power-up).

After a long search, I accidentally discovered that you can find it by simply looking up into the bright light at the tiles shaped like a sun in the first hall (the hall with the level 1 doors) of Super Mario 64. This bright light wasn't there before.

This way, you can access a 'secret' level where you can activate that 'switch'.
